Los Altos Chamber of Commerce
"In Los Altos, the business and residential communities are fundamentally interrelated. Recreational opportunities for Los Altos families, like the proposed community pool, are important for our residents, so that makes it important to our business community. The characteristics that make Los Altos such a wonderful place to live-the quality of our schools, traditions like the Pet Parade and Fall Festival, our small town atmosphere in the midst of Silicon Valley, and our commitment to children and families-contribute to the vibrancy of our business community. We are proud to count the Los Altos Community Pool Foundatin as a Chamber member in good standing."
- Julie Rose, President
Kiwanis Club of Los Altos
"Our board has approved an endorsement of the Los Altos Community Pool Foundation. Thanks for all that you are doing."
- Melinda Ray, President
Swimming Organizations
Los Altos Masters Swim Club
"Los Altos Masters supports the Los Altos Community Pool Project unequivocally! In our search for a temporary home after the demolition of Covington Pool, we learned, painfully, that surrounding communities do not offer sufficient pool availability to serve the needs of Los Altos citizens for childrens' swimming lessons, recreational swimming, and organized competitive programs. We eagerly await the construction of a new community pool and to return to our home in Los Altos."
- Doug Sheaffer, President ~ Board of Directors
Covington Swim Team
"Covington Swim Team was "Homeless, but Still Dangerous" during the summer of 2001. The Covington Swim Team coaching staff encourages the entire Los Altos community to support this new pool where the next generation of Los Altans can develop their abilities in this lifetime sport. Young Los Altos swimmers deserve a public pool in their own community."
- Alexandra Desmond, Covington Swim Team Head Coach 2007
Los Altos-Mountain View Aquatic Club
"LAMVAC is committed to fostering a love of swimming in our children so we enthusiastically support this community resource. More children and more families should have an opportunity to participate in swimming in Los Altos."
- Joanna Koch, President ~ LAMVAC Board of Directors 2001-02
Rinconada Masters Swim Club
"Without question, Rinconada Masters supports the Community Pool Project in Los Altos that will give Los Altos citizens access to a public pool. There is too much stress in this world, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of your local pool to relieve pressure and stress from every day life with exercise! Your children also need swim lessons with all the backyard pools in the area to be safe."
- Carol Macpherson Head Coach, Rinconada Masters (Palo Alto)
Mountain View Masters Swim and Social Club
"Mountain View Masters Swim and Social Club wholeheartedly supports Los Altos Community Foundations's efforts toward the building of a new swimming pool in Los Altos. Mountain View Masters welcomes the displaced swimmers from Los Altos to our programs at Eagle Pool, and we believe that a new pool in Los Altos will provide more much-needed practice times and lane space for all local swimmers, young and old."
- Laura Schuster President, Mountain View Masters Swim and Social Club
